Lashes
Unlike temporary false lashes which are designed to be used for the short term, the lash extension is professionally applied one extension on each natural lash with a semi-permanent medical adhesive used by surgeons. These lashes hold in place for several weeks at a time.
Eyelash extensions add volume length beyond what coats of mascara and eyelash curler could ever achieve.
The price of lash extensions varies depending on the style. $175 for a half set and $275 for a full set.
Many establishments offer eyelash extensions but you need to remain vigilant. The procedure is quasi surgical and must be performed by a recognized specialist and in compliance with hygiene regulations in order to avoid any potential health risks. The procedure must be performed with sterile instruments and products that are 100 percent hypoallergenic.
I would tell people save the Groupon for yoga class as I have seen some crazy stuff at Haus of V.
Your first appointment will be the longest taking at least 90 mins and possibly upwards of two hours. You should arrive at the salon with your eyes entirely free of makeup.
We ask that our clients do not have caffeine before they come in.
You are lying still in a relaxed environment, and as such it is a great chance to unplug!
My advice would be to bring a playlist or book on tape.
Make sure to put your phone on airplane mode just to make sure your phone isn’t buzzing in your pocket with crazy notifications that you won’t be able to check for hours.
And given the complicated logistics of having to stop and go to the restroom mid-application, you should always visit the restroom before your appointment begins.

The health and thickness of your natural lashes as well as the shape of your face and eyes will be used to determine the right set of extensions for you. This consultation will ultimately determine the best fit for the style and look you are looking for.
There are many factors to consider when choosing the right lash for you. Eyelash extensions are available in a variety of lengths diameter and curls. There are also different materials to choose from - including synthetic silk and synthetic mink.
We recommend that novices err on the conservative side as you can always get a more dramatic glamorous look later.
If a client is coming in for the first time, we advise them to follow their lash growth pattern and just make them darker as I’ve experienced my dramatic look is different from someone else’s.
To begin you will lie down on your back and get comfortable. Your bottom lashes will be shielded with under eye pads stickers or tape. Prepare for eyes to be closed for the entire application as your technician delicately affixes each extension with tweezers.
It may take a few mins to adjust to the idea of sharp metal instruments so close to your eyes but the procedure is so relaxing that you will find yourself dosing off. The breeze of a small fan and a light mist will wake up from your nap to find yourself looking glamorous.
After your appointment don’t let your lash extensions get wet for the next 24 hours so that the glue can dry completely. Steer clear of humid environments like saunas. To preserve your lashes keep them clean and gently detangle them with a pristine mascara wand.
You can wear makeup but realize that oils and oil-based makeup removers, as well as botanical spritzers made with essential oils, are your lashes worst nightmare as they breakdown the adhesive. some liners contain oils as well.
When it comes to mascara - if you are in between fill appointments, you can use it to balance out when your natural lashes have grown out along with the lash extension.
The golden rule with lash extensions - the less you mess with them the longer they will last!
To keep your lashes looking full and fresh, touch-up appointments should be scheduled between 2-4 weeks apart. These fill-in appointments take approximately one hour.
Unlike most lash companies you won’t be made to purchase a new set after one or two touch ups.
I’ve worked with many different makes of lashes, and by far I’ve had the best results and best feedback with Misencil lashes.
Misencil lashes are gorgeous and mimic your own lashes which will leave people guessing.
They are 100 percent Canadian they are made from hypoallergenic synthetic fibres and don’t contain harsh chemicals. They are soft, light-weight, water resistant, and look natural.
Misencil glue is formaldehyde free and specifically designed for eyelash extensions and approved by Health Canada.
Eyelashes that are properly cared for should not make natural lashes fall out, but you will notice some casualties as your lashes grow and shed according to your natural lash cycle.
Misencil eyelashes need minimal care. Just follow these simple instructions and you will be enjoying your lashes for many weeks to come.
- You must use oil-free products for your eyes (this includes creamy makeup, eye makeup remover, skin creams, rich eye creams and cleansers).
- Do not get your eyelashes wet for the first 24 hours after the application.
- Wash your face using a facecloth rather that splashing water directly on eyes.
- Do not swim or use a sauna or steam room for the first 48 hours.
- Do not use mascara for 48 hours after the application.
- After 48 hours use a water-based mascara if you really want to make a statement.
- Do not use a lash curler and do not perm or tint your Misencil eyelashes.
- If you experience any irritation or itching contact me as soon as possible.
Tips
- The best way to dry your face after washing is close your eyes and blot your face gently so your lashes won’t get caught in the towel.
- You can admire all you want in the mirror but resist the temptation to touch, rub or tug at your gorgeous new lashes as this may pull out your own natural lashes.
- When using a Q-Tip to remove eyeliner, be sure to saturate it with oil-free makeup remover (or water) so that the fibres do not get caught in your lash extensions.
- It is possible to have your lashes last for 3-4 weeks with proper care of your eyelash extensions. However should you wish to have a full luscious set of lashes everyday of the week, it is recommended that you see me 2-3 weeks after your initial application.

For different event styles, makeup can require more or less products, time and expertise. Therefore costs can vary significantly - the more consultation time that is required before the actual event will mean an increase in the final cost.
Rates can vary between $90-$650 per hour across Canada, depending on the services selected. Travel costs not included.
Add ons:
A standard makeup package includes full eyes, lips, cheeks and skin.
There would be additional costs for false lashes, airbrushing, highlight/contouring and special makeup touches because they require additional cost and time.
Special effects:
Fantasy makeup for Halloween, other costume parties or added glamour, can include various add ons or special effects that affect the final price.
Hair styling:
There are packages that combine hairstyling and makeup services.
Number of people:
~Wedding parties and other large events often require makeup services for more than one person and more makeup artists.
Travel:
Travel time, car mileage and gas all affect the cost of makeup artist services.
Usually there is a set rate within the immediate area, but there are additional fees based on distance.
Reputation:
Makeup artists who have trained with high profile teachers and worked with celebrity clientele often have higher rates than those starting out.
Hours:
The number of hours that are needed on location affects the cost of services.
Events such as corporate videos photoshoots, weddings and video production often require all day presence.
For events such as weddings there is a negotiated rate after the initial wedding party application and consultation.

We are commonly hired to apply makeup for TV and film as well as Hollywood red carpet events.
Other events I have been hired for include Halloween and costume parties, video productions, fashion shows, weddings, birthday parties, and other special occasions.
The most requested makeup looks are glamorous, bold romantic, soft, or natural and clean. Some people also make special requests for tattoo and scar covering. Rates vary by geographic location and by the work involved.
